At Hack, we don’t do things traditionally.
We also don’t believe writers should have to face they challenges and risks associated with the more trend self-publishing routes available to them, especially those just starting their writing journeys.
No one publication journey should ever be the same.
We work closely with you whether you already have an idea carved out about what kind of publication you want to create or if you haven’t even considered that yet.
As long as you’ve got the text or you’re willing to get it, we can take care of the rest.

We’ll work with you and your submission on a case-by-case basis to bring you personal support and create original reading experiences.
We don’t have a slush pile only a lush pile. We read EVERY submission and offer feedback.
- You provide us with the text via our form below – nice and simple.
- We typically review and reply to your submission within 4 weeks.
- If we like it, we will ask you to provide us with more of your work – because we’re greedy like that.
- We then have a chat to discuss your ambitions – we put you first.
- You approve our publishing offer – if you are happy, of course.
- Production begins – woo!
- Together we release your work into the world – you’re officially a published writer.
- You get to keep writing.
Here’s how our submissions process works.
Submission guidelines
We ask for 3,000 words for prose and 30 lines maximum for poetry in pdf. format.
We accept any fiction, short stories, poetry and non fiction works, or any combination of these. We do not currently accept scripts.
You must be a resident of the UK and aged 18-35.
We will respond to you about next steps typically within 4 weeks.
