1. Overview
This document describes Hack Publishing’s Terms of Service. Please ensure you have read these Terms of Service carefully before using or accessing the Hack platform. Users accessing any part of the platform are agreeing and bound to these Terms. You cannot access the platform or engage with any of our services if you do not agree to all these Terms.
It is your responsibility to periodically check this page for changes.
2. Definitions
“We,” “us,” and “the Platform” all refer to Hack Publishing Ltd., registered company number: 12551051 (England and Wales).
“You,” “user,” and “member” all refer to any individual and/or legal entity visiting and/or purchasing from the Hack platform. All services we offer to users through the Platform, including subscriptions, submissions, information, and tools, are conditioned by the user’s acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies, and notices declared here.
3. Scope and Acceptance
3.1. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Hack platform, including all content, features, and services provided.
3.2. By accessing or using the Hack platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
3.3. Hack reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions periodically in accordance with UK consumer protection laws, such as the Consumer Rights Act 2015. You are responsible for reviewing any changes, and continuing to use the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
4. User Accounts and Registration
4.1. To access certain features of the Hack platform, you may be required to create a user account.
4.2. When registering, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
4.3. Hack reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms & Conditions or our other policies.
4.4. All users of the Hack platform must be 18 years of age or older, except for users who have obtained parental/guardian consent as outlined in Section 4.5.
4.5. Users aged 16 or 17 may access the Hack platform by creating an “Apprentice” account and obtaining the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The parent/guardian will be required to provide their contact information and confirm their consent for the minor to use the platform. This consent may be periodically reviewed and can be withdrawn at any time.
5. Purchases and Services
5.1. The Hack platform offers a variety of products and services for purchase, including but not limited to online courses, anthologies, merchandise, and bespoke services.
5.2. All purchases made through the Hack platform are subject to the terms outlined in our Refund Policy, which is available separately and complies with UK consumer protection laws.
5.3. For bespoke services that are provided on a case-by-case basis, additional terms and conditions may apply. These will be provided separately at the time of purchase or prior to the delivery of the service.
5.4. Hack reserves the right to modify, discontinue, or introduce new products and services at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be communicated in accordance with the Amendments section of these Terms & Conditions.
5.5. Please review the details of each product or service offering carefully before making a purchase. By completing a purchase, you agree to be bound by the applicable terms and conditions.
6. Delivery and Fulfilment
6.1. Certain products offered on the Hack platform, such as our print-on-demand anthologies, have specific fulfilment timelines that may differ from standard retail delivery.
6.2. Some orders, like anthologies, are processed and dispatched on set dates. As a result, customers may experience longer than average delivery times for these products, typically 2-4 weeks from the date of purchase.
6.3. Hack will provide clear estimated delivery timelines for all products at the time of purchase. We will also communicate any unexpected delays that may impact the delivery of orders.
6.4. In accordance with the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, customers have the right to cancel any order and receive a full refund if the delivery of a product is delayed beyond the estimated timeframe provided.
6.5. For standard products and services, Hack is not liable for any delays in delivery caused by third-party shipping providers or other factors outside of our control. However, we will work to minimise disruptions and keep customers informed of the status of their orders.
7. Bespoke Services
7.1. In addition to our standard product and service offerings, Hack may provide bespoke or custom services on a case-by-case basis.
7.2. The delivery timelines and terms for any bespoke services will be agreed upon and communicated separately at the time of purchase or prior to the delivery of the service.
7.3. Hack reserves the right to decline or limit the availability of bespoke services based on resource constraints or other factors.
8. Intellectual Property Rights
8.1. The Hack platform, including its content, design, software, and trademarks, is owned by Hack and protected by UK copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8.2. You may use the Hack platform’s content and features for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Any other use, including reproduction, modification, or distribution, is strictly prohibited without Hack’s prior written consent.
8.3. You retain ownership of any content you upload or submit to the Hack platform. However, by posting or sharing content, you grant Hack a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with operating and improving the platform.
9. Cookie Policy
9.1. Hack uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance your user experience and collect information about how you interact with the platform, in compliance with the UK’s data protection regulations.
9.2. By using the Hack platform, you consent to our use of cookies as described in our Cookie Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms & Conditions.
9.3. You can manage your cookie preferences by adjusting your browser settings or as outlined in our Cookie Policy.
10. Refunds
10.1. Refunds for purchases made on the Hack platform are subject to the terms of our Refund Policy, which is available separately and complies with UK consumer protection laws.

11. Third Parties
11.1. Hack may use third-party services and tools to operate and improve the platform. When using third-party services, Hack will ensure that your personal information is handled in compliance with UK data protection laws and our own Privacy Policy.
11.2. Any third-party reference or hyperlink in these Terms and/or provided through the Platform and/or services is to be used and accessed at your own discretion. Hack is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or actions of any third parties.

12. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
12.1. The Hack platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, in accordance with UK law.
12.2. Hack shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the platform or its content, except as required by applicable UK law.
12.3. In no event shall Hack’s total liability exceed £1,000 or the amount you have paid to Hack in the previous 12 months, whichever is lower. Nothing in this clause limits or excludes Hack’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any matter which it would be unlawful for Hack to limit or exclude.
13. Notice & Communications
13.1. Written communications, including notices, are to be sent to the email address office@hack-publishing.co.uk.
13.2. No notice and immediate cancellation will take place in certain instances, such as failure to make first payment or misconduct, as permitted by UK law.
13.3. Written notice of cancellation, changes, or updates to any services will be provided via email, in accordance with UK consumer protection requirements.
14. Amendments
14.1. We reserve the right to change, update, or replace these Terms of Service at any time, in line with UK consumer protection laws.
14.2. We will give you 30 days’ notice about any material changes, either by notifying you on the platform or by email, as required by UK regulations.
15. Rights, Law & Jurisdiction
15.1. Any disputes related to these Terms or your use of the Hack platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of England and Wales, in accordance with UK law.
